One of my all-time favorite reading genres has been fantasy and science fiction since I was a kid. Something about these types of books just sucks me in and doesn’t let go. They’re the books that keep me fighting sleep until all hours of the night. I think it all started when I first read Harry Potter and the Lord of The Rings series and from there it’s been quite the journey.
In today’s list we’ll be covering some of the most anticipated new fantasy books of 2017. Also don’t forget to join our newsletter. we have give away free books every single week
1. A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab – February 21
First on our list of new fantasy books of 2017 is A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab. This is the third book in the Shades of Magic trilogy and by far one of our favorite reads. The best thing I think I can say is that it’s one of the most satisfying trilogies all the way through. If you like fantasy, magic, and perfect world building then this is a series that you absolutely need to read!
2. Norse Mythology – Neil Gaiman – February 7
Another great book is Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman. In this bestselling book you get a chance to learn about one of the most fascinating mythologies that exist. Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now in this book he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales.
3. Oathbringer – Brandon Sanderson – November 2017
If you’ve read any of the books in the Stormlight Archive series by Brandon Sanderson then you’ll know exactly why this book made our top 10 new fantasy books of 2017. He is one of the best up and coming epic fantasy writers today. This book is set to be released in November 2017 and will be the third book in the series. 4. The Stars Are Legion – Kameron Hurley – February 7
Fourth on our top list of new fantasy books of 2017 is The Stars Are Legion by Kameron Hurley. The story line in this book is simply outstanding. The book does take a little while to really get sucked into (about 20 – 30 pages) however, this is mainly due to the fact that you have to really come to terms with the rules of the universe she writes. Once you adjust to that the story really begins to shine through and it becomes quite a fast-paced read! Very entertaining – well worth a try.
5. The Collapsing Empire – John Scalzi – March 21
Do you ever get hold of a book that you thought looked pretty good, but then it turns out to be this fantastic experience that you couldn’t have possibly predicted from the outset? That’s exactly how The Collapsing Empire by John Scalzi will hit you. If you love sci-fi books then this one is definitely a must read. It takes place in the far reaches of space with a new take on faster than the speed of light travel. A new series by a multiple bestselling author.
