The 10 Best Thriller Books of 2017
Today, I present to you the best thriller books of 2017. The Thriller fiction genre, sometimes called suspense fiction, is a genre of literature that typically entails fast-paced plots, numerous action scenes, and limited character development. Part of the allure of thrillers comes from not only what their stories are about, but also how they are told. It also tends to keep its audience “on the edge” of their seats. So if you are looking for the next fast paced and adrenalin pumping book to read, then check out some of the ones on this list!
1. The Missing Ones– Patricia Gibney
The first book on our list of best thriller books is The Missing Ones by Patricia Gibney. Suspenseful from the first page all the way to the last page. It’s a well-edited book and has fully developed characters. It also has a great setting which can be easily pictured. Patricia Gibney has a very bright future as an author. I had a hard time putting it down and I can’t wait for the next book!
2. The Man of Legends – Kenneth Johnson
A truly exceptional book. It has a cohesive story spanning thousands of years and has a surprising ending. The author makes the reader feel like the interviews are real and it could really be made to a movie or an episodic television show. There is so much to be said about this book, but the bottom line is you should just go ahead and read it. One of the best summer reads!
3. No Exit – Taylor Adams
No Exit is an amazing, heart-stopping, can’t turn the page fast enough thriller. This has a fast paced and beautifully written story full of rollercoaster twists and turns. It is very much like an old-fashioned locked room, without the locked room which I really loved. This is one of the best thriller books that I’ve read. Definitely worth your time!
4. Sister, Sister – Sue Fortin
A frightening and ingenious story. I really thought that I’ve had everything figured out but I was surprised at the end. The author is a master of making good plots and deception. This has always kept me wondering what will happen next. If you’re into psychological thrillers, I would definitely recommend you guys to read this book.
5. Their Lost Daughters – Joy Ellis
This book would surely make an awesome movie. This book has constantly unfolding revelations with unbelievable twists. The author does a great job at juggling few storylines and bringing them all together with ease. All the elements of this novel were right on and I’m definitely reading more books from this author. This book will get you hooked for hours!
6. Silent Child – Sarah A. Denzil
I have read many books but I think this one will remain with me for a long time. The characters were built well and are very relatable which draws you in. This is also one of the “cleanest” thriller books without many graphic details. I never expected the ending but it was amazing. I truly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone in their late teens or older.
7. Behind Her Eyes – Sarah Pinborough
This story of the crazy love triangle will throw a reader for a loop or two. The characters were rich and interesting and the writing flowed well. The thing that I loved most about this book is that it has short chapters which made the pacing much quicker. The ending is just too unexpected to risk spoiling for everyone. I personally think it is worth reading for the shocking ending alone!
8. Dark Mountain – Jeff Carson
Jeff Carson is a must read author. The David Wolf series is addicting, compelling, and are realistic. The characters are believable and all have their distinct personalities. If this is the first of the series you read, you won’t be disappointed as it stands alone well. You will want to buy the other 9 books in the series to read, though! If you want top-notch suspense, then this is a must-read for you.
9. Sing Roses for Me – Ben Marney
I literally could not put this book down at all. The story is gut-wrenching and will make you think that evil truly exists in all walks of life. This book was very well written with different people’s stories intimately intertwined. The ending was very appropriate for this vile villain. This is the first suspense mover written by Ben and I will surely wait for his next book.
10. Her Every Fear – Peter Swanson
Last on our list of best thriller books is Her Every Fear by Peter Swanson. This is a bone-chilling, heart-pounding murder mystery that will have you double checking every door and window. A definite five-star novel that will grip you from page one and keep you turning pages throughout. You will know fairly soon who the bad guy is but it doesn’t kill the suspense. Instead, it just keeps ratcheting up as the book progresses. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes serial killer books.
